Caring for your Wishbone Quilt
It is the nature of most cotton fabrics to “bleed” a little bit when washed. It is highly recommended that you use Shout Color Catchers (or the like) every time you wash your quilt — until the Color Catcher comes out totally white. This might take a few washings. There are numerous “formulas” on the internet for making your own, but I personally have not tried them and, therefore, cannot attest to these.
You can wash all of my quilts in the washing machine on gentle, in cold water, and tumble dry low — or reshape and dry flat or hang to dry (but let’s face it, the dryer is easier and quicker!). It is also the nature of all hand-made quilts to "pucker" slightly after washing, but this just adds to its handmade look and feel. This is perfectly normal. With each washing, your quilt naturally becomes softer.
